The Hungarian Tobacco Retailers Association (MDKSZ) organised its leading tobacco retail trade exhibition and fair, Tabak Expo, again this year. The all-day event, which this time was hosted by the HUNGEXPO Congress Centre, not only brings together manufacturers, distributors and tobacconists, but also serves as an outstanding platform for knowledge sharing through professional programs. Continental Tobacco Group, as a Diamond Sponsor of Tabak Expo, was represented as an exhibitor with its own stand, in line with tradition.

The largest meeting of tobacco retailers in Hungary was attended by around 1500 visitors and nearly fifty exhibitors this year. In addition to the opportunity for manufacturers and distributors to showcase their latest products, the event was accompanied by a strong professional program focusing on the regulatory environment, the fight against the black market, harm reduction and the challenges facing employers in the tobacco industry.

Speakers included leading experts from the industry, such as Peter Schweinschwaller, President of the European Tobacco Retailers Association, Dr. Marcell Biró, President of the Supervisory Authority for Regulatory Affairs (SZTFH), Antal Lengyel, President of MDKSZ and Dr. Gábor Esküdt, Director of Tobacco at SZTFH.

Continental Tobacco Group, in line with the tradition of the past years, was among the exhibitors at Tabak Expo, welcoming visitors with its own stand and a team of experts. In addition to presenting products and sharing knowledge, the expo also provided an opportunity for our delegation to gain a deeper understanding of retailers’ needs and to establish and maintain business contacts.
