The world’s largest tobacco industry trade fair, InterTabac, was held this year in Dortmund from September 19 to 21. The Continental Tobacco Group had a stronger presence than ever before, with two stands at the professional summit. In addition to showcasing its traditional products, the group’s cigar offerings were also featured through the exhibition space of Continental Cigar Ltd. Exhibitors from more than 60 countries attended the event, which was further enriched by professional presentations, tastings, and special networking events.
For Continental, InterTabac is of paramount importance each year, as it provides a unique opportunity to nurture international relationships and explore new markets. This year, many professional partners visited the company’s stands, showing great interest not only in the traditional Continental products but also in the cigar range offered by Continental Cigar Ltd., the group’s subsidiary responsible for premium cigar trading, which is gaining increasing international recognition.
During the three-day event, visitors had the opportunity to attend numerous professional presentations, including discussions on the future challenges of the tobacco and e-cigarette industries, as well as learn about the latest innovations.
An interesting fact is that the regulation of the fastest-growing next-generation products, such as disposable single-use devices banned in several countries, including Hungary, remains unresolved at the EU level. Visitors also encountered many product developments specifically targeting the youngest consumers, which may not necessarily represent a positive direction.
The size of the event continues to grow, and this year it was held across nine halls, with no complaints regarding attendance.
This year’s InterTabac placed special focus on sustainability and innovations. As part of the CB Expo, the latest developments in the cannabis industry were also presented, responding to the growing legalization of recreational cannabis in Europe.
Csaba Füzi, CEO of Continental Tobacco Corp., stated that the Dortmund exhibition offers a key opportunity for the company each year to strengthen its international relations and showcase its latest products. This year’s event was particularly important for Continental, as it allowed them not only to deepen cooperation with existing partners but also to uncover new opportunities in global markets.
