On 23 January, Continental Tobacco Corp. held its traditional year-opening workers’ meeting. During the briefing, held in the modern plant hall of the company-owned tobacco factory in Sátoraljaújhely, which was inaugurated in November, the company’s CEO, Csaba Füzi, presented the results of the year 2022 and the objectives of this year.

At the annual opening meeting, Csaba Füzi first of all took the opportunity to thank the company’s employees for their conscientious work, which contributed to the successful implementation of the nearly HUF 10 billion investment project, which was completed in November 2022 and lasted for about one and a half years. Continental Tobacco Corp. has closed a successful year with the handover of the new factory hall and the modernisation of the production lines, thus strengthening its stable position in the domestic and regional tobacco market.

Csaba Füzi said that the company is facing further challenges in 2023: the maximum utilisation of new investment capacities offers further opportunities, especially in the area of preparation. In addition, there is growing demand on the international market, which opens up scope for Continental to expand its export activities.

In addition to the production and sales aspects, employee wellbeing is also of paramount importance to the company, which is why, in addition to the overhead compensation from November to April, negotiations regarding this year’s inflation-adjusted salary increase have already begun.
